It’s my Birthday Week.
When my husband and kids asked what I want for my birthday, I told them nothing – actually I told my husband that I want to come home to a clean house when I get home on Sunday evening from a weekend trip with our daughter 😉
But what I’d really like is to support the important work of the Child Mind Institute. While some months we may feel both emotionally and financially stretched by the cost of my son’s mental health care, I also know we are among the too-small percentage of families with both adequate access to and the ability to pay for high quality Carr and treatment. Nationwide there are millions of children living with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other mental health and learning disorders which go undiagnosed and untreated. It should not be this way…and it does not have to remain this way.
What I really want for my birthday is to help bridge the gap for families who do not have the access to quality care and treatment for their children. It is a gift to me each and everyday knowing that we are able to get my son the care he needs. My greatest wish is to give that same gift to other families – and the Child Mind Institute can help make that happen.
